Towards 6 kilns in 2021

< Back to overview

We double our production capacity with 3 new kilns.

LDC 2.0

The Belgian producer LDCwood is investing in three new production kilns for the thermal modification of ThermoWood®. That brings the total to six.

In Ostend, LDCwood already has three kilns in use for the thermal modification of wood. For example ayous/abachi, fraké, ash, pine/spruce and poplar. At the end of 2021, the company will add three production kilns. With their arrival, LDCwood will expand its production capacity to more than 16,000 cubic meters.

LDCwood is a joint venture of the Belgian timber companies Lemahieu Group and Decolvenaere. Thermally modified wood, ThermoWood® – available in various profiles – is suitable for applications such as facade cladding and terraces. The product has sustainability certificates from FSC® and PEFC, and the OLB legality mark.

The 3 new ThermoWood® kilns were built in 3 months.
