Towards 6 kilns in 2021

We double our production capacity with 3 new kilns.

LDC 2.0

The Belgian producer LDCwood® is investing in three new production kilns for the thermal modification of ThermoWood®. That brings the total to six.

In Ostend, LDCwood® already has three kilns in use for the thermal modification of wood. For example ayous/abachi, fraké, ash, pine/spruce and poplar. At the end of 2021, the company will add three production kilns. With their arrival, LDCwood® will expand its production capacity to more than 16,000 cubic meters.

LDCwood® is a joint venture of the Belgian timber companies Lemahieu Group and Decolvenaere. Thermally modified wood, ThermoWood® – available in various profiles – is suitable for applications such as facade cladding and terraces. The product has sustainability certificates from FSC® and PEFC, and the OLB legality mark.
