ORIGING OF OUR WOOD
LDCwood’s ThermoWood® is made from fast-growing tree species from sustainably-managed forests.
The 100%-natural production process, without the use of chemicals, improves the timber’s quality until it acquires the same hard-wearing properties as hardwood.
As a company, LDCwood is taking a step further in the area of sustainability. LDCwood has been carbon-neutral since 2021, and its climate strategy will positively impact its carbon footprint in the years to come.

SUSTAINABLE RESOURCES
All the timber that LDCwood uses for its timber preservation process comes from sustainably-managed forests.
In that way, LDCwood supports partners taking a socially responsible approach to manage their forests. Sustainable forest management goes beyond selective felling trees and replacing every tree felled. Environmental, social, and economic aspects must also be respected. This includes water management, proper working conditions, and fair profitability to benefit those involved.
By choosing timber products with an FSC®, PEFC or OLB claim, you are helping to ensure sustainable management of the world’s forests.

NATURAL PRODUCTION PROCESS
LDCwood’s ThermoWood® is the result of a timber preservation technique that uses only water, steam, and heat.
Its 100%-natural process is based on the Finnish model that uses heat, water, and steam. The thermal modifications increase the timber’s durability and improve its quality without adding chemicals.
The 7500 L of water, required per production run comes from 6 Tubao buffer tanks. They collect rainwater from the roofs on our site and can buffer up to 900,000 L of water.

ISO 14001-CERTIFIED
LDCwood complies with ISO 14001. We systematically consider the environmental impact of our operations. For example, we handle waste streams with care and use resources more efficiently.
THE BEST IS YET TO COME
No sustainable views without a clear strategy. In future years, we shall remain committed to making our products even more sustainable and environmentally friendly.
